Carl William Smith, 65, of Hilo, a retired multimedia artist and an Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War, died in Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. He was born in Cincinnati. He is survived by caregiver Ben Abarca. Graveside services at noon Tuesday at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.
