74Helen Gillette Thompson, 93, of Hilo, formerly of Maui, a journalist and writer, died in Hilo Medical Center. She was born in WaKeeney, Kan. She is survived by companion Dan Wahl, sons Brian and Lance Gillette, daughter Maia Cummings, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Private services.
