Hiroto Steve Sugano, 93, of Waipahu, a retired heavy equipment operator for the Department of the Army and an Army veteran who served in the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, 100th Infantry Battalion, Company D, died in Honolulu. He was born in Koloa, Kauai. He is survived by wife Tsuneko, son Danny, daughter Grace Shannon, brothers James Y. and Joe K., sisters Miyako Kure and Sueko Ishibashi, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Private services.
