John Philip McCoy Jr., 49, of Kapaa, Kauai, a home health-care worker and a Navy veteran who served in the Gulf War, died in Lihue. He was born in Florence, S.C. He is survived by daughter Alanna E., father John P., mother Lyla J. McElveen, stepmother Barbara H. McCoy and sister Allyson M. Hirsh. Celebration of life: 9 a.m. Friday at Lydgate Park. Donations suggested to The Friends of Kamalani and Lydgate Park.
