BRIAN Y.K. KIM 1971 -2014 Brian Kim, 43, son of Raymond and Beatrice Kim, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2014. In his youth, he was active in the Boy Scouts of America and achieved the Eagle Scout rank. A Son of lolani, Brian graduated with the Class of 1989. Brian went on to graduate from the College of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1993. As a member of the Argonaut's Track and Field team, he specialized in the hammer throw. Brian spent his career with Allstate Insurance Company. He had a second career as a professional photographer. Although he downplayed his efforts and talent, Brian had a lifelong passion and dedication to photography. He began his career as a freelance photographer, getting behind the scenes with his press pass. Brian paved the way for many in the early stages of their modeling careers, generously sharing his time and talent. He was an active member of the Diamond Head Lions Club. A celebration of Brian's life will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at St. Alban's Chapel on the lolani School campus. Visitation: 2:00 p.m., Celebration of Life: 3:00 p.m. Attire: Aloha wear.
