Benjamin Motas, 79, of Kailua, a retired counselor, dance lecturer, recreation supervisor and an Air Force veteran, died in Kailua. He was born in Pahala, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Barbara, daughter Debra Santiago, stepson Steven Ennis, stepdaughters Christine Vasconcellos and Leslie Kealoha, brother Vicente "Shorty" Jr., sister Maria Grosskopf, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
