Mike Wagner aka Michael and or Fikey
MVNP-29242-Mike-Wagner-3col-x-8-v5_final_hiresMIKE WAGNER AKA MICHAEL AND OR FIKEY (he could be feisty at times) Mike Wagner was born on October 1, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois, to Jim and Sence Wagner. As a youngster, Mike showed an early aptitude for thoughtfulness (he was a loving son and an affectionate brother to his sister, Penny and his brother, Jim), as well as a gift for clear-sightedness (he was born with a passion for the visual arts). A 1977 graduate of the University of Illinois in Chicago, Mike spent several years working as a graphic designer before discovering that advertising art directors are valued, not only for their design skills, but also for their ability to think. After embarking on his advertising career at Cole & Weber in Seattle, Mike joined Ogilvy & Mather in Honolulu, Hawai'i. He became an Associate Creative Director at Milici Valenti Ng Pack in 1991 and remained a revered member of the MVNP family for 23 years. Mike was humble and self-effacing (his mantra was, "it's only advertising") but he couldn't help winning his fair share of awards. A Clio finalist, he was also honored by the One Show, the New York Art Directors Show, Communication Arts, and Hawai'i's Pele Awards among others. In 1995, he was named "Hawai'i Advertising Person of the Year" by the Honolulu Advertising Federation. Mike graduated life on planet Earthwith honorson August 18, 2014. He is now pursuing post-graduate work in a galaxy not so far away. He is deeply missed by his beloved partner Bill Matsumoto and their parrot Edamame, his family, his dog Mochi, and a legion of friends who loved him with all their hearts. There will be a memorial celebration of Mike's life held on the beach at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, October 1st, from 1pm to 3pm. His ashes will be spread at sea within sight of Diamond Head. In lieu of flowers, feel free to honor Mike with a donation to either the Human Rights Campaign or the Hawaiian Humane Society.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
