DEWEY MICHAEL KUMUKOA ALLEN Born February 5, 1927 to Mr. Dewey Allen and Mrs. Katherine Hanapi Allen of Honolulu, Hawaii. Dewey graduated from Kamehameha Schools in 1946, and later Michigan State University in 1956. It was while he was attending Michigan State University pursuing a degree in police science that he met "the love of his life," Shirley Ann Yee. Dewey and Shirley were married on September 20, 1952. Shirley, his wife of 55 years preceded him in death and passed away on January 27, 2008. He had a successful career in law enforcement and organizational administration; Police Commissioner of American Samoa, Police Chief of Kauai, Chief Investigator - Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, Head of Security for Aloha Airlines and security consultant for Aloha Island Air. He is survived by his only child Kevin, daughter in-law Rene, granddaughter Elizabeth, grandson Stewart, younger brother Leibert, and older sister Elaine. Celebration of life: Sunday, Oct 19. Visitation 4 p.m. St. Peters 's Episcopal Church. Service 5 p.m. Aloha attire. No Flowers.
