JAMES MASANOBU MASA MIYASHIRO Age 92, of Moanalua, HI, passed away September 23, 2014 in Foster Village. Born November 15, 1921, in South Hilo, Big Island of Hawaii. A retired self-employed General Contractor. Member of Haneji Club of the HUOA, First Assembly of God, Red Hill and Nomura Ryu Koten Ongaku Honzonkai Hawaii Chapter and Samisen Kyoshi. He enjoyed playing the samisen and singing okinawan songs. In his spare time he raised and bred parakeets, love birds, cockatiels and parrots. He also volunteered his trade skills at the Okinawan center, the Okinawan Festival and his church. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nancy Shizue (Yogi) Miyashiro; sons, pre deceased Howard (Nancy) of Sacramento, California; Gordon (Naomi); Merl (Sharon); and Kent (Leslye) of Lake Forest, California; 12 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren. Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Borthwick Mortuary (downtown), Mauka Chapel. Visitation 10 am, Service 11 am, Inurnment 2 pm at Hawaiian Memorial Park (Garden of Love II), Kaneohe. Casual Attire. Flowers welcome.
