GRACE MITSUKO KAGAWA On Wednesday, October 8th, surrounded by loving family, Grace Mitsuko Kagawa peacefully passed away, a few days before her 97th birthday at Manoa Cottage Kaimuki. A remarkable leader, Grace graduated in 1941 from the University of Kansas followed by additional graduate studies and training in Kansas and Boston. She then began a storied 36 year career at Straub Clinic and Hospital, where she became the Chief Medical Technologist of their laboratories while also teaching Hematology at the UH Medical Technology program. She was the widow of Nelson (Pop) Kagawa and proud mother of Gary N. Kagawa. She is also survived by her sister Akiye, brother Noboru, many nephews and nieces, and her son in-law John Miller, and scores of friends. A private interment was held at Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary, with a life celebration planned for next year.
