LESLIE RALPH BERGER UH Microbiology Professor and amateur photographer Leslie Ralph Berger passed away peacefully in his sleep at his daughter's home in California on Sunday, October 5, 2014. He was 85 years old. He was married for nearly 54 years to fellow microbiologist Joyce Arlyn Berger who passed way in 2008. He spent the last five years with Miriam Grosman, a music professor from Rio de Janeiro, traveling between Rio and Hawaii and countries in between. He is survived by his son Kerry Michael Berger, his grandson Yuuki Jae Berger and his daughter Maile Elizabeth Maxwell. A celebration of his life will take place in Honolulu, at a later date.
