Susumu "Sus" Umetsu, 81, of Hilo, a retired painting contractor and owner of Akahi Painting Corp. and an Army veteran, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Papaikou, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Yuriko, daughter Denise Takeya, sister Sumiko Eguchi and two grandchildren. Private services. No monetary offerings.
