She is survived by son Gary; daughter Lani Olarti; stepmother Lily Arista; brothers Vicente, Zosimo, Michael, Darryl and Eleuterio “Terry” Jr. Arista; sisters Stephanie Gonzales and Faith Arista; and two grandchildren. AMBROCIO AMBROSE LAGMAY JULIAN Age 95, of Ewa Beach, HI, passed away November 20, 2014 in Ewa Beach. Born December 2, 1918 in Laoag City, Philippines. He retired from Oahu Sugar. An active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ewa Beach. He is survived by wife, Patrocinio “Pat” Julian; daughters, Madeline (Lee Michael) Lleces, Emelynn (Thomas) Duenas; sons, Merlin (Stella) Julian, Edwin (Bernadette) Julian, Clyde (Tracy) Julian; sister, Juliana Julian Sison; brother, Rudolfo Lagmay Julian; 14 grand- children; 7 great-grandchildren. Rudolf J. Metzger

RUDOLF RUDI J. METZGER Rudi passed away at Castle Medical Center on December 15th, 2014, in the arms of his loving wife Pam. Rudi was born in Nordlingen, Germany on March 24th, 1932. He started learning to be a mechanic at the young age of 14. He worked in Switzerland and England before meeting Pam and moving to Honolulu in 1958. Reini, his brother, followed him to Honolulu and together they formed European Car Service, a Volkswagen repair shop in Kaka`ako. Rudi and Reini worked together for more than 40 years and at the young age of 70, Rudi retired. Rudi’s life was filled with sailing, traveling, enjoying his beautiful home, his many German Shepherds, children, grandchildren and his beautiful sea green Jaguar. After retirement he enjoyed taking stain glass classes. He was very artistic and could fix anything. Everyone who met Rudi loved him, he was everyone’s best neighbor and his yard was beautiful. Rudi was a wonderful loving husband, father, brother and friend to many. He left this world too soon. We will love him forever. Rudi is survived by his wife Pam, his children Judy Matthews, Karen Umbhau, Heidi Metzger- Morris and Andrew Metzger, his sons-in-law Thomas Umbhau and Randy Morris, daughter- in-law Gloria Metzger, his siblings Reini of Kailua, Hawaii, Paula, Elisabeth and Claus of Nordlingen, Germany. He was “Opa” to 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grand children. Rudi is preceded in death by his mother Rosa, father Josef, daughter- in-law Ruby and sister Maria. A celebration of life will be held on December 30th, 2014 at St. John Vianney Church. Visitation will be at 6:00pm and a mass at 7:00pm, with a reception to follow. Please no flowers.

SALLY SACHIKO SHIMABUKURO Age 88, of Waipahu, HI, passed away on December 9, 2014 in Waipahu. Born on February 6, 1926 in Waipahu. She retired from the Hawaiian Telephone Co. A member of the Waipahu Soto Mission and the Waipahu Senior Citizens Club. She is survived by son, Peter (June) Shimabukuro; daughters, Lei Shimabukuro, Jolene (Benjamin) Taga, Heidi Shimabukuro; grand- children, Maxx Taga, Royce Omoto, Rexx Taga. Visitation 5:30 p.m., Tuesday (Dec 30) at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Memorial Serivce 6:00 p.m. Casual attire. No flowers, please.
