78Irene Ayako "Tough Cookies" Izumi, 82, of Honalo, Hawaii, a retired postmaster and a tennis player, died in Kona Community Hospital. She was born in Honalo. She is survived by husband Yoshizuki; daughters Christine Izumi-Baltero and Joni Izumi-Nakamoto; son Jason; brothers Harold, Ernest and Ted Teshima; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
