Ernest Minoru Shimizu, 68, of Hilo, an insurance salesman for William F. Jones Insurance Agency and Crown Life Insurance Co., a motorcycle safety instructor and an Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War, died in Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by daughter Jennifer, sisters Sharon Nomura and Susan Nakayama, brother Stanley and two step-grandchildren. Visitation: 4 p.m. Friday at Dodo Mortuary, Hilo. Services: 5 p.m. Urn committal services: 9 a.m. March 23 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.
