Ruby Colena Souther
$nameRUBY COLENA SOUTHER Age 89, of Honolulu, HI died at her home in Honolulu on February 8, 2015. Ruby was a resident of Honolulu since 1958 when she fell in love with the island. Ruby Colena Terrel was born at Orlando, OK, on February 25, 1925. Graduating in the Class of 1943 at Prosser, WA, she later attended the Univ of HI. Fresh out of school Ruby was employed in a sensitive position during wartime which inspired Ruby to later write "Inner Window", a published work portraying historical figures, events and locales, used fictitiously, giving the story a proper historical content. Ruby married Macel B Sills on June 17, 1944. They shared twenty years together before his fatal heart attack in Honolulu, HI. Ruby enjoyed her position as Admin Assistant to the President of Honolulu Electrical Products Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hawaiian Electric Company. On July 1, 1969, she married Kenneth P Davison of Sunnyside, WA, who succumbed to a fatal heart attack on August 28, 1969. On May 5, 1976 she married William H Souther of Sunnyside, WA, and they alternated between their homes in Stevenson, WA and in Honolulu. They were world travelers before full retirement to Hawaii. She is survived by five step-children: Joseph Thomas Souther of Seattle, WA; Wallace Baldwin Sills and Delmer Edwin Sills, both of Silver Lakes Resort (Helendale), CA; Beverly Davison Dell of Ephrata, WA, and Judith Davison Lemon of Bellingham, WA; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, sisters- in-law, and nieces and nephews. On February 25th, Ruby was placed alongside her dear husband, William Souther, at Punchbowl. She will be greatly missed by many.
