JULIA C. CHUNG Julia C. Chung, 99, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2015 in the company of family. Julia spent most of her life in Manoa Valley, but was born in 1916 in Koloa, Kauai. In 1962, she was asked to be the first registrar-secretary at Damien Memorial School and retired in 1978. For most of that period, she was the only female on campus when it was an all-boys' school run by the Irish Christian Brothers. She was also an active member and volunteer of St. Pius X Church. Julia was predeceased by husband Charles K.W. Chung, and is survived by Glenda (David) Hinchey, Sylvia (the late Pete) Thompson, Nedra Chung, Lucille Helmbrecht, and the late Dathan Chung (Patricia Butters Chung). She is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services: Monday, April 13th, St. Pius X Church. Visitation 10:00 a.m., eulogy 11:00 a.m., Mass 11:15 a.m. Aloha Attire. Private burial.
