MELVIN TADAO IWAMOTO JR.
MELVIN TADAO IWAMOTO JR. Junior was age 53 and lived in both Honolulu, O'ahu and Hanama'ulu, Kaua'i. He was born on January 11, 1962 in Lihu'e, and passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at his home in Honolulu. He attended Kamehameha Schools (Class of 1980), and was employed with Wai'alae Golf Course and Hawaiian Electric Inc., as a linesman. Melvin was pre-deceased by his father, Melvin T. Iwamoto, grandparents Tadashi and Pearl Iwamoto of Hanama'ulu, Kaluna and Daisy Ka'auwai of Waipouli, Kaua'i. He was survived by son Melvin T. Iwamoto III, and daughter Melia Kamakawiwo'ole Iwamoto of Honolulu. He is also survived by his mother, Linda Ka'auwai-Iwamoto of Hanama'ulu, sister Darrah (Hiwa) Makanui of Anahola, and brother Kyle T.K. Iwamoto of Honolulu; nieces Tihane (Luke) DeKneef of Honolulu and Chanita (Calsen) Makanui of Anahola; nephews Beau Lopez of Anahola and Rustin Iwamoto Hee of Honolulu. Grandniece Kahoku Morrow Lopez, La'akea Chang Lopez of Kapa'a and Kapilioha Makanui Hasegawa of Anahola. Uncles Johnny (Barbara) Ka'auwai of Anahola, William Ka'auwai of Honolulu, and Blackie Isoda of Koloa; Aunty's Tita (Robert) Gonsalves of Wailua, Ipo Ka'auwai of Anahola, and Lauretta (Norman) Kamehiro of Honolulu, and many cousins. Service Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 3pm at Kaiona Beach Park. Scattering at sunset.
