Alson “Sannie†De Mello, 94, of Wailuku, a Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Co. heavy-equipment operator, died at home. He was born in Puunene, Maui. He is survived by wife Vera S., stepsons Lopaka B. Aiwohi and Ralph “R.E.†WilÂliams, stepdaughters Valerie N. Fernandez and Mona Cabrera, brother Alfred, sister Dorothy Carvalho, 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Sunday at Ballard Family Mortuary.
