72Lynette Kaanohiakalani "Lynn" Mendonsa, 70, of Hilo, a retired preschool teacher and kupuna at Waiakeawaena and Hilo Union elementary schools, died in Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Hakalau, Hawaii. She is survived by husband David Sr.; son David J. Jr.; daughter Tanya Lyn Hickcox; brothers Parley, Francis and Saffrey Tajon; sisters Dolores Bugado and Clarisse Ishimine; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation: 5 p.m. Thursday at New Hope Hilo, 840 Kupulau Road. Services: 7 p.m. Graveside services: 11 a.m. Friday at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Aloha attire. Flowers welcome.
