Solomon Kua “Small Fry†Kahaawi, 73, of Ewa Beach, a retired sergeant for the Honolulu Police Department in Wahiawa and a Navy veteran, died in Ewa Beach. He was born in Naalehu, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Evelyn; son Jason K.; daughters Leslie Griffin, Lia Marie Kahaawi-Manu and Kiki Lynn Kahaawi; brothers Fritz Jr., Samuel and Joel Kua; sisters Earlene Low and Leilani McCarthy; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, mauka chapel. Services: 11 a.m.
