LOUIS 'IWALANI AKANA BLAISDELL MINTON, "TOOLE"
$nameLOUISE 'IWALANI AKANA BLAISDELL MINTON, TOOLE Louise 'Iwalani Akana Blaisdell Minton, "Toole", 92 of Kailua, ascended to heaven peacefully on April 1, 2015 in Hospice Hawaii, surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, Frank Almon Minton, Jr, sons David, Kimo and Kekuni (Terrell Smith), daughter Nalani (Sam Henderson),11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, her beloved brother Dr. Kekuni Blaisdell and his family. Toole was an innovative educator for 26 years and a nurse for 22 years prior. A devoted advocate for Native Hawaiian health and education, in 2011, she received a Kaonohi Award for her work in support of US Congressional legislation to create E Ola Mau, the NH Healthcare Act and Papa Ola Lokahi. Toole had a vivacious, creative, radiant personality and loved life, family, friends, God and Hawaii nei in all its splendor and wondrous beauty. She is a true aloha 'aina and will be forever loved by those who know her as the beautiful, irreplaceable and unforgettable being that she is. Please join us for her Celebration of Life at 6 pm on Wed evening, May 27, 2015 at Community of Christ Church in Makiki,1666 Mott Smith Dr. Flowers and lei are welcome. As a lasting tribute in her honor, tax exempt donations can be made to the Louise 'Iwalani Minton Memorial Fund #12711304, checks payable to the UH Foundation, to support native nurses.
