Richard James Francis Kaluna, 79, of Honolulu, a head custodian and a Marine Corps veteran, died in Straub Clinic & Hospital. He was born in Kohala, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Lydia; son Dwight Kato; stepdaughter Donna Estrada; stepson Alfred Aquino; brothers Stanley and Lee Kaluna, Joe Kumukoa and Eric Dela Cruz; sister Gail Pelekai; and three grandchildren. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. Friday at Borthwick Mortuary. Services: 10:30 a.m. Burial: 1 p.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe. Aloha or casual attire. Flowers welcome.
