CARL LOUIS BLAZEL
$nameCARL LOUIS BLAZEL Carl Louis Blazel, 83, died at home in Honolulu, Hawaii, on May 30, 2015, after a brief illness. He was born in West Bend, Wisconsin in 1931, to Clarence and Marie Blazel. He graduated from Colorado School of Mines with a degree in Geophysical Engineering. While in college, Carl met a young woman from Honolulu who attended Colorado Woman's College. Carl married the young woman, Doreen Hart, in 1956, and several years later they moved back to Honolulu, while he pursued a career in the computer science field that was still in its infancy. He was a systems analyst for Planning Research Corporation (a think tank) in the early 1960s, Director of Data Processing at Dillingham Corporation in the late 60s through the 70s, and was the owner of Information Management Services - an information technology consulting company - from the late 1970s until just before his death. Carl was a husband, a dad, a retired colonel in the Army Reserves, a runner, a stamp collector, a lover of history, and an avid reader. He was loved by family and friends alike. Carl was predeceased by his wife Doreen. He is survived by his daughters Sandra Blazel (Gary Mynatt) and Maile Murray (Brent Murray), and grandchildren Alison Murray and Alex Murray. He was predeceased by his sister Ruth Blazel. Private services. No monetary offerings. Donations suggested to Punahou School, the Hawaii Humane Society or St Francis Hospice.
