Richard Jong Kong Chong, 86, of Hilo, a retired Yamada Transfer manager and a retired Army reservist who served in the Korean and Vietnam wars, died in Hospice of Hilo's Pohai Malama Facility. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by sons Dr. Clayton and Andrew; daughters Sandra and Emma Chong, and Claire Fernandez; brothers Robert, Herbert, Daniel and Donald; sisters Florence Lee, Evelyn Makio and Marilyn Goo; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Visitation: 4 p.m. Tuesday at Dodo Mortuary, Hilo. Services: 6 p.m. Graveside committal services: 9 a.m. Wednesday at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Aloha or casual attire.
