Kwanichi "Uncle Kanchi" Yuda, 89, of Hilo, a retired Hawaii County employee, former instructor for Hilo Hongwanji Kendo Club and an Army veteran who served in World War II, died in Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. He was born in Hilo. He is survived by sons Neal and Gene, daughters Lynn McCauley and Joni Petrizzo, brother George, sister Kay Murashige and four grandchildren. Visitation: 11 a.m. Sunday at Dodo Mortuary in Hilo. Services: noon. Casual attire.
