78Calvin Iokepa Saffery Sr., 65, of Anahola, Kauai, a retired Kauai County employee, died at home. He was born in Hanalei, Kauai. He is survived by daughter Valerie Saffery-Samio; sons Calvin Jr. and Robert; sisters Rose Angeles, Nani Saffery and Vallendee "Toto" Wong; brother Gordon "Kealoha"; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Aug. 14 at Wai'oli Hui'ia Church, Hanalei. Celebration of life: 11 a.m.
