74Manuel Fontes Jr., 74, of Papaikou, Hawaii, a retired maintenance worker at Naniloa Resort Hotel in Hilo, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Olaa, Hawaii. He is survived by companion Rose Toribio; son James; daughter Jill Werner; sisters Irene Oliveira, Millie Rapoza, Ethel Fontes and Gina Ah Yo; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hilo. Mass: 10 a.m. Casual attire.
