MARGARET AYAME OTA
$nameMARGARET AYAME OTA Margaret Ayame Ota, 92, was born in Wahiawa and lived there her entire life. She passed away peacefully in Wahiawa on July 14th. Her gentle, quiet nature will be missed by many friends, and especially by her family. Margaret was devoted to her family of four children -- Christine (Dean) DeRosa, Carole Ota, Ron Ota, Lillian (Russell) Helton; five grandchildren -- Jennifer & Kimberly DeRosa, April (Daryl) Nakamoto, Jordan & Meagan Helton; and two great-grand- children. She is also survived by one sister -- May (Johnny) Hamai of California. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Susumu, with whom she enjoyed numerous trips to the mainland, as well as several countries. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. After retiring from the Wahiawa General Hospital X-ray department, she spent another 25 plus years as a volunteer and board member of the Wahiawa General Hospital Auxiliary. She was regular member of the Wahiawa Rainbows Senior Citizen Club, and enjoyed tai chi and yoga. Funeral services will be held at Mililani Memorial Park, Mauka Chapel, on Sunday, August 16th. Visitation begins at 5:00 pm and services at 6:00 pm. The family requests no flowers, please. A private burial service has been planned.
