Don S. Kester, 88, of Pahoa, Hawaii, a retired Western Electric associated engineer and an Army veteran who served in World War II, died at home. He was born in Kansas City, Mo. He is survived by wife Barbara W.; son Scott; daughters Lucy Lombardi, Jenny Dodson and Amy Davis; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation: 10 a.m. Saturday at Hilo United Methodist Church. Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Luncheon in the church social hall. Casual attire.
