74Joseph Vellez, 84, of Kaneohe, a retired Chaney Brooks resident manager, died in Kaneohe. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Kuupuni; sons Rocky Sadeno, Joey Vellez, Raymond and Michael Balles, and Roy Gandy; daughters Rita Reyes, Sharon Phylis, Roxanne Nichols, Josephine Perez, Valarie Simpson, Bobbie Vellez, Anna Frazier, Vanessa Gandy, Melanie Iwaishi and Coral Diaz; sister Lillian Lopez; 51 grandchildren; and 85 great-grandchildren.
