FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Reverend Norio Sasaki
Screenshot 2015-09-30 10.25.31REVEREND NORIO SASAKI 89, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2015. Born in Wailua, Hawaii, Reverend Sasaki graduated from the University of Hawaii and, after finding his spiritual calling, attended the San Francisco Theological Seminary and Harvard Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. His parish ministry began at St. Johns Episcopal Church on Kauai and continued to St. Clement's, St. Elizabeth's and St. Mark's Episcopal Churches on Oahu. He served as Chaplain at Iolani School for over nineteen years. Following his retirement, he continued his charitable work and ministry in Hawaii and internationally. His work included, among other things, teaching world religion at the University of Beijing in China and Rikkyo Daigaku in Tokyo, Japan. He also functioned as an interim priest at All Saint's Church in Bakewell, England. He is survived by: his wife, Florence; four children and their spouses, James and Diana, Judy and Scott, Paul and Jodi and John and Eda; and ten grandchildren, Samantha, Noelle, Kelly, Erin, Ryan, DJ, Jay, Sammy, Matt, and Zoey. Memorial Service to be held at St. Andrews Cathedral on Saturday September 26. Visitation: 3:00, service and inurnment: 4:00, reception to follow. Casual/Aloha attire. No flowers please.
