JEWELL ORR MOONEY Jewell Orr Mooney (7/31/24- 9/24/15) was born in Willard, NC to Paul and Lydie Orr. She is survived by her sister Marie Orr Dean, daughters Barbara and Sandra, grandchildren Kaliko, Taylor, Sally, and Carolina as well as seven great-grand- children. She was preceded in death by husband Bob, daughters Patricia and Cynthia, and granddaughter Jasmine. Jewell taught at Waimanalo School for 30 years. She was an active member of Kailua Baptist Church for 51 years and a volunteer with the Disabled Veterans Auxiliary. She saw the positive in every situation and trusted the Lord in good times and bad. We can still hear her say: "My mercy, my mercy!" Jewell was joy personified. Memorial: Tues., Oct. 6, at Windward United Church of Christ. 11am visitation, service at noon, reception to follow.
