FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Michael Crawford Lewis Thomas
In Loving Memory of My Nephew Michael Crawford Lewis Thomas Entered into Eternal Rest Saturday, May 16, 2015 Happy 49th Birthday, Nov. 15, 2015! Michael died at The Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he spent the previous seven months in ICU after a successful kidney transplant. Because of his Fabry's disease, a rare genetic disease diagnosed in 2005, serious complications arose for which there was no cure. Michael spent much of his life in N.C., graduating from UNC at Wilmington in 1992 with a BA in History. After his internship at the USS NC Battleship in Wilmington, NC, he became the first Registrar. A special wreath was consigned to the Cape Fear River off the Battleship on June 13, 2015.Praises to Kim Sincox! He transferred to the USS BOWFIN submarine museum in Honolulu where he was Collections Manager. Later he enrolled in the Honolulu Police Department 128th Recruit Class and graduated on May 8, 1996, remaining with the HPD for 17 years. My gratitude to the amazing HPD. I wish to thank the Hawaii Kai Community Church in Honolulu for celebrating Michael's life on June 13 in such a loving way. Michael's devoted parents are Byron L. and Juanita C. Thomas of Julian, NC. His special sister, Cynthia T. D. Shank died in 1995. He is survived by his loving sister. Lisa T. Philips of Henderson, NV; her children, Kevin and Kelly; Cindy's children, Christopher Deal (Amy and family) and Lindsay Deal of Greensboro, NC. Also, his aunt Virginia T. Dixon of Raleigh, NC. By Michael's side the last 11 years was Laura Fontanilla of Kailua, Hawaii, his longtime companion and Life Partner. I wish to thank her for so many things and know that her devotion to him was matched only by his love for her. Thank you, Michael, for your unique personality, quirky smiles, perseverance and strength! You are missed with great love by your relatives, friends and former co-workers. Aloha 'Oe, Michael Farewell to Thee Until we meet again, Lovingly Submitted Aunt Ginny

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
