Norman Kauhane Macomber Sr., 73, of Hilo, a retired structural ironworker for the Iron Workers Union Local 625 and an Army veteran, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Kona/Waikii. He is survived by wife Pearl "Elena"; sons James, Romann and Ryon; daughters Elythe and Alora Macomber, and Norelle Kaoiwi; brothers Eddie and Pastor Bobby Macomber; sister Daisy Spalding; and numerous grandchildren. Visitation: 5 p.m. Jan. 15 at Dodo Mortuary in Hilo. Services: 7 p.m. Casual attire. No flowers.
