Sri Meheula Shim
SRI MEHEULA SHIM Sri Meheula Shim was born on December 17, 1956 to Alvin Tong Shim and Marion Heen Shim. He passed away on January 9, 2016 at the age of 59. His family and friends mourn the loss of a bright light. Those who knew him will remember Sri's infectious love and enthusiasm for his family, friends, surfing, food, and most recently, yoga. A graduate of Kamehameha Schools class of 1974, Sri was a well-known surfer at Ala Moana Bowls. He was a gifted florist and only recently closed his flower shop, Hale Koa Flowers, at the Hale Koa Hotel. He was looking forward to his next business venture with his daughter, Alyson. He is survived by his daughters Lauren Kawahakui (Syd, Jr.), Alyson (Justin), and Meleana (Maru), and his daughters' mother, Laurel; his granddaughter, Eliana Lee. His longtime partner, Sue Deuber, and her children Claire (Justin), Jacob, and Trey; his dogs Pali and Hana. His mother, Marion; brothers Liko Martin, Neumann, Pono, and Sy; his sisters Dari Matsuura and Dana Shim Palama. His family and friends will celebrate and give thanks for the gift of his Life on Saturday, January 23rd at Magic Island, Ala Moana Beach Park from 2:00PM to 6:00PM. Paddle out to Ala Moana Bowls will be at 5:00PM.
