LAWRENCE “LARRY” ANTHONY SOARES
Passed away on January 10th 2016 LAWRENCE "LARRY" ANTHONY SOARES Age 81 of Makaha "A Jack of all trades, master of none, and such a workaholic". Born in Lahaina, Maui and raised in Kalihi, Larry was a very avid sportsman in football, baseball, basketball, and boxing who also enjoyed fishing, bird hunting, golf, Las Vegas dice games, and Heineken beer. He was a 1953 graduate of Farrington H.S. and really loved his Governors team, he was always packing up his kids when they were young and taking them from Waianae all the way to the Stadium to support his alma mater, they never missed a Governors game. He was a long time supporter of the Waianae Boxing Club and was also involved in the Waianae/Makaha little league, he was a proud coach of "The Pirates" baseball team. Larry wore many hats but was a man of few words which is why they dubbed him "The Mystery Candidate" when he at one time tried to run in local politics. He is survived by his wife Paula, sons Larry Jr., Alan, Timmy (Sandy) "of Pahoa", Joey, Anthony, Shane (Gina), Tracy, Blaise (Sena) "of Las Vegas", daughter Lori Ann Soares, his sister Toni Kaahanui and his 28 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his parents Valentine and Uarda, and his sister Marianne Bode. At his request-"No services" but family and friends are welcome to attend Larry's "Celebration of Life" in Makaha on Sunday January 31st, 2016 from 1:30-5pm at 84-507 Upena Street (Casual Attire). thesoaresohana@gmail.com
