BETTY DORSAM BEGGS 1924-2015 Betty passed away peacefully at her home in Kihei, Maui, on December 18, 2015, with her son, Kenny, at her side. She was born in Honolulu on October 27, 1924; she was raised in Manoa Valley, attended Sacred Hearts Academy and Roosevelt High School, graduating in the class of 1942. During World War II, Betty worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and later was employed by Alexander and Baldwin. She married Webb Beggs Jr. and they were the parents of four sons. In 1957 the family moved to Maui where Betty worked for many years at Maui Electric, retiring in 1981. She lived a very social life and served as a volunteer for many non-profit organizations. She will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. Betty is survived by three sons, Webb III "Skippy," John Thomas "J.T.," Kenneth Dorsam "Kenny," grand- children, Ian, Connie and Devan Beggs, Samantha Sheffield, great grandson Julian, and sister Barbara Del Piano. She was preceded in death by her youngest son, William Carmack "Billy." Betty will be remembered on both Maui and Oahu. Waioli Tea Room will be the site of a celebration on Monday, February 29, at 10:00 a.m. At the Veterans of Foreign Affairs Clubhouse in Kihei there will be a gathering Sunday, March 13 from 2 to 6: p.m. Donations in her honor may be sent to Maui Hospice, 400 Mahalani St., Wailuku 96793.
