James Francis "Jim" Hovatter, 77, of Pleasant Hill, Calif., a retired Hawaiian Airlines pilot and a veteran of the Army National Guard, Navy and Air Force, died. He was born in Manown, W.Va. He is survived by wife Judy G., daughter Sindy, stepdaughters Kathy Bauwens and Pam Paulson, sisters Anna and Agnes, brother Joe, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services in California. No flowers. Donations suggested to East Bay Mental Health Alliance or East Bay Lung Cancer Research.
