77Carl Edward "Ed" Richards, 70, of Hilo, a retired firefighter for the Hilo Airport Crash Crew, died in Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Wahiawa. He is survived by son Caleb, daughters Tasha Wong and Kimberly Jackson, mother Mary Welch, companion Rachel Sabate and nine grandchildren. Celebration of life at noon April 23 at Puhi Bay, Hilo.
