John Kawaihakulani Kalani Sr.
March 25, 2016 John Kawaihakulani "Bubull" Kalani Sr., 67, of Hilo, formerly of Pahala, Hawaii, a Navy veteran who served in the Vietnam War, retired Ka'u Sugar welder, former Country Club Hotel resident manager and Punaluu Makahiki co-chairman, died in Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. He was born in Kealakekua-Kona, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Christine; son John K. Jr.; daughters Chantelle and Starlette; hanai son Shayden Requelman; brother Ernest; sisters Leilani Aldaya, Maryjane Ballio and Kalei Clay; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation: 4 p.m. April 29 at Dodo Mortuary. Services: 6 p.m. Committal services: 9 a.m. April 30 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire. No flowers.
