William Francis Dupin
WILLIAM FRANCIS DUPIN William Francis Dupin, 75, died of natural causes on April 13th while visiting the Holy Land. Better known as Bill, he is survived by his wife Penny, his two children Doug and Brian, and his six grandchildren, Ellie, Anna, Chloe, Max, Gus and Finn Dupin Bill was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1940 and attended St. Louis and Punahou High Schools. In 1959, he left the island for the mainland where he attended Oregon State University. After graduating, Bill joined the US Navy and met his future wife Penny Deming while serving as a naval officer in San Diego. After a tour in the Mediterranean, Bill and Penny returned to California where they started a family in the Bay Area. Bill's civilian career began at IBM and wound through Silicon Valley with stints at OceanRoutes, Solectron, Trimble Navigation, and Weathernews. He and Penny raised their family in Cupertino and Los Altos, with both boys attending Homestead High school and later the UC system. After retiring in 1996, Bill and Penny moved to Incline Village, NV, where they enjoyed the camaraderie of their friends and the beauty of Lake Tahoe. Between his time in Nevada and Arizona, Bill golfed frequently and was a longtime member of the Rotary Club of Incline Village and was a volunteer with the summer Shakespeare Festival in Incline Village. His hobby of oil painting produced many excellent landscapes which he often gave to friends. As avid travelers, Bill and Penny explored all seven continents together, often by cruise ship. The family will be hosting a private celebration of his life in Incline Village on May 6th. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity.
