Tom Takehide Ban, 88, of Hilo, retired Shell Oil plant operator and an Army veteran, died in Hospice of Hilo, Pohai Malama Facility. He was born in Captain Cook, Hawaii. He is survived by wife Amy, sons Richard and Michael, brother Robert, four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. May 28 at Dodo Mortuary, Hilo. Services: 11 a.m. Casual attire. No flowers.
