FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Garrett Pono Chun
$nameGARRETT PONO CHUN DEC. 23, 1964-JULY 1, 2016 Garrett Pono Chun of Honolulu passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loved ones on July 1, 2016 from complications of a sudden and unexpected illness. He is a graduate of Iolani High (delete High) School, University of Denver (Bachelors in Finance), and University of Hawaii (MBA). He was a member of Kappa Sigma at University of Denver and the San Diego Alumni Representative for University of Hawaii. Pono worked with the Hawaii Legislature, PRI, Tesoro, Sempra Energy (Senior Financial Analyst, San Diego), and recently moved home to Hawaii, starting a new career as an Insurance Broker. Pono had a high work ethic and was loved by all of his co-workers. They nicknamed him "Mr. Aloha." Pono was thoughtful, loving, loyal, kind, and loved meeting people. His friends and family were important to him, as he often fi (delete extra space here) lled his spare time visiting with them. Pono was also an accomplished racquetball player and loved golfi (delete extra space here) ng with friends. He is survived by his parents Lin and Gerald Chun, sister Gerilin Chun Zwicky (David), and nephews Dawson and Davis, as well as many close cousins and friends. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at St. Alban's Chapel, Iolani School, Sunday, July 24th at 1:00pm, services starting at 1:30pm.
