Vernon E.Y. Chong, 90, of Kailua, a former Aloha Airlines aircraft mechanic and an Army veteran, died. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by son Vernon Jr., daughters Susan Moore-Chong and Lori Chong, brothers Harold and Donald, sisters Angie Ing and Mona Suinn, and a grandchild. Visitation: 10 a.m. Aug. 2 at Borthwick Mortuary, 1330 Maunakea St., Honolulu. Services: 11 a.m. Aloha or casual attire. No flowers. Donations suggested to National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii.
