81Gloria Jean Schmidt, 70, of Hilo, a hairdresser and an employee at the former Paradise Auction, died in Hospice of Hilo-Pohai Malama Facility. She was born in Ontario, Canada. She is survived by daughter Coleen Pabra, brother Brent A. Mournahan, sister Sonia Glenn, caregiver Hannah Carvalho and a grandchild. Visitation: Noon Aug. 27 at Puhi Bay, Keaukaha. Services: 1:30 p.m. Scattering of ashes at sea to follow.
