DR. VALKYRIE KANANI CHOY-WILLIAMS
$nameDR. VALKYRIE KANANI CHOY-WILLIAMS Dr. Valkyrie Kanani Choy- Williams passed with peace and grace on August 19, 2016 after enduring a long illness. At her side were her husband, Willie Glen Williams (Coffee) and family. She is lovingly remembered by her mother Valkyrie Soo, daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Shawn and grand- son Liam (Murphy), her siblings, Nalani, Wendy, Michael, Patty, and their ohana (family and friends). Kanani was born in 1951 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She attended the University of Hawaii and continued earning degrees at prestigious institutions around the world, ultimately receiving her Doctorate in Education from the University of San Francisco. A dedicated educator who served for many years as an award-winning administrator, Dr. Choy was a proud member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. A patron and participant of the arts, she belonged to the Screen Actors Guild and performed on stage and screen. Kanani and Coffee shared 38 wonderful years together always an adventure. She will always be remembered for her sharp intellect, sense of humor and passion for life. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Kanani on Oahu, Hawaii in the fall.
