Fred Mitsuo Shinsato, 89, of Waianae, a retired employee at the Naval Public Works Center, Pearl Harbor, and an Army veteran, died in Waianae. He was born in Kahuku. He is survived by wife Mary M., daughters Sonia Ako and Karen Ayau, brother Richard Shinsato, sister Ethel Fukeda, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9:45 a.m. Sept. 1 at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, makai chapel. Services: 10:45 a.m. Burial: 11:30 a.m. at Mililani Memorial Park.
