71Merle Okada Shimokawa, 98, of Honolulu, a retired schoolteacher for Kamehameha III School-Maui Campus, died in Honolulu. She was born in Huelo, Maui. She is survived by sons Owen and Brian, daughter Susan and five grandchildren. Visitation: 3 p.m. Sept. 24 at Wesley United Methodist Church. Services: 4 p.m. Private inurnment.
