CAROLYN JUANITA GALANG NAKASATO Passed away peacefully at home on October 17, surrounded by family and friends. The light of this beautiful soul has passed from our world and we mourn her departure deeply. Carolyn was a teacher at Kalihi Waena School for many years before retiring to a life filled with friends, family, and the pursuit of her passion for art, travel, craft fairs, long lunches at new restaurants, and projects with her beloved granddaughter. The profound loss is felt by many, most of all by her husband of fifty years, Roy, daughter and son-in-law Dana and Travis, granddaughter Leia, sisters Marilyn and Babette, brothers Valentine Jr., Richard and Patrick, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends. We will share memories and music at a service at Borthwick Mauka Mortuary on Friday, November 11, 2016, visitation at 9 a.m. and service at 10 a.m. In lieu of monetary gifts, please consider donating to Montessori Community School, Planned Parenthood of Hawaii, or the Honolulu Museum of Art.
